Henry Linderman, Director of the US Mint, started the process of redesigning the nation’s silver coins; Assistant Engraver George T. Morgan’s design was selected to appear on the silver dollar.  Opting to portray an American woman as Liberty, rather than the past preference for Greek-like women, Morgan captured the beauty of Anna Williams from five sittings. Morgan described her profile as “the most perfect he had seen.”

George T. Morgan’s silver dollar was minted between 1878 and 1904, when silver resources were depleted. For a short time in 1921, minting resumed, but it was replaced by the Peace Dollar to celebrate the end of World War I.

Provident Metals is proud to offer the Morgan Dollar 1 oz Silver Round, inspired by the original Morgan Dollar. The obverse features George T. Morgan’s Liberty. The nation’s motto, “E PLURIBUS UNUM” is scrolled above Liberty’s head, along with a border of 13 stars. Each star represents one of the original colonies, of which one great nation was formed.

The reverse of the round features the US Seal.  Our majestic national bird, the bald eagle, spreads his wings while clutching arrows for protection and an olive branch for peace. “.999 FINE SILVER,” “ONE TROY OUNCE,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST” border the reverse.

The US Mint no longer produces the beautiful Morgan Dollar; trust Provident Metals for your chance to own a stunning round dedicated to historical American coinage for just $0.49 over spot. But, hurry; this offer won’t last!
