2017 has seen slow, yet steady economic growth in the US. The Commerce Department reported that the economy only grew 1.2 percent at an annual pace during the year’s first quarter. Though sluggish, the economy has continued to grow since the end of the recession. The Federal Reserve is forecasting a 2 percent growth for this year. One of the main reasons for such slow growth is the lack of spending from American consumers.
